Worth seeing: the ceiling in the great hall and the garden where you can grab a bite to eat before getting back to work.

A secret garden in Avignon
The garden is on a visitor trail but we rarely think to stop there. A small square often enjoyed by locals, it boasts an incredble variety of plants, a courtyard theatre and is steeped in history. We pass parents with their children, teenagers in love and the smell of plants.

A trip to Les Halles d'Avignon
A yearly ritual: meeting with friends at Les Halles. Enter through the plant wall and head to the "Cabane d'Oléron" stand at midday to enjoy an oyster and white wine-tasting. Don't forget to go past Jouvaud for dessert, but keep in mind there are only 3 tables inside (nicer atmosphere) and a terrace outside.

Les Fromages de Valérie
It may not be the biggest stall in Les Halles, but it's the friendliest! Valérie always has a smile on her face and her cheeses are perfect for picnics to take on your hikes. My favourite: Rondin de Brebis.

Fish & Chips in Avignon
My little Sunday treat: enjoying oysters from La Cabane d'Oleron on the terrace as a family. Something I had never seen coming was becoming a fan of the Fish & Chips ordered by our children - ultra-fresh and crispy!
